E.J. is a retired Davie Police Sergeant with almost 19 years’ police experience. He started his sworn career with the Key West Police in December 2000. He then was hired by Davie Police Department in May 2007. He was assigned as a Broward College Campus Officer working in the Special Operations Division. He was promoted to Sergeant in December 2013. He was designated “CPTED Practitioner” and “Crime Prevention Practitioner” through the Florida Attorney Generals’ Crime Prevention Training Institute Office.
He was the recipient of numerous citations and awards, including the coveted “Davie Police Life Saving Award” for saving an elderly gentleman who had driven his vehicle into one of the many lakes located on Broward College and extracting him from the vehicle before it completely submerged. He retired in good standing in November 2018.
E.J. was a veteran of the United States Navy and served honorably from 1985-1989. During his military service he had deployments overseas, where he assisted The United States Coast Guard in counter narcotics operations in the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. He also maintained numerous small arms and large gun systems.
E.J. has been a member of ASIS Chapter 104 for 3 years and currently holds the Board Position of Secretary. He looks forward to working with his other board members on building the chapter.
